better.energy – Analyze is the analytics module of the better.energy IoT platform. By using this software, you gain reliable insights into the efficiency of heating operations in your buildings and sites. Depending on your package tier, you can view various key performance indicators, identify inefficiencies in heating, prioritise energy efficiency measures and use the data to produce ESG and compliance reports.

It processes the existing energy and usage data from your buildings into meaningful key performance indicators, detects anomalies in heating operations and helps you to identify specific areas for potential savings. Typical examples include overheating in individual rooms, heating with windows open, or unusual consumption patterns. All relevant measures and changes are documented and can be exported.

The module analyses the data from your building’s sensors and thermostats, uses this to generate energy-related metrics and identifies opportunities for optimisation. To use better.energy – Analyze, you need to install the smart radiator control system, better.energy – Control. This provides the necessary sensor data, which is then processed and analysed by the module.

better.energy – Analyze is an analytics programme. No installation is required in your building to use the module, given that you are already using better.energy – Control and have sensors in place to supply the data. You do not need any additional hardware.

Analyze is aimed at operators of hotels, care homes, youth hostels, schools, office buildings, administrative buildings and similar properties. A basic requirement is an existing better.energy installation with sensor data. The module is suitable both for individual sites and for operators with multiple properties who wish to compare their portfolio and manage it centrally.

better.energy – Analyze highlights energy wastage and provides you with recommendations on how to reduce your consumption. We cannot give a specific figure for savings across the board, as the result depends on the building, usage patterns and the measures implemented. What you get with Analyze: the transparency to identify potential savings, and the documentation to gauge the success of your measures against key performance indicators. In combination with the monitoring module, savings can also be measured in kWh and euros.

Yes. Energy metrics, their historical trends and action logs can be exported as a CSV file. This export is suitable for further processing in your own systems or for submission to energy advisers and auditors.

better.energy – Analyze provides the data you need for regulatory compliance documentation and audit processes. The module documents energy performance indicators, their trends and the measures implemented. You can export this data and use it for GModG compliance documentation or ISO 50001 processes. Specifically, Analyze supports the definition of a baseline, the establishment of methodologically traceable energy performance indicators (EnPIs) and the demonstration of continuous improvement. Important: Analyze is a support tool, not a substitute for certification or consultancy. The data and analyses support your compliance process; they do not replace it.

The analysis software was developed specifically for use in individual buildings and large property portfolios. The portfolio comparison is part of the ‘Enterprise’ package. This enables you to compare the energy performance indicators of different sites by standardising the data. You’ll gain a clear overview of which of your sites are achieving the best results in terms of energy-efficient heating, and at which sites specific measures should be taken to reduce your heating costs.

That depends on whether you are already a better.energy customer. Existing customers whose sensors are already providing data will see the first key figures and analyses immediately after activation. For new customers who are setting up better.energy and Analyze at the same time, the system first needs a data set. To ensure reliable and meaningful comparisons and trend analyses, it is typically recommended to wait for one full heating season.
