Betterspace was awarded the coveted reader prize BEST of Market. The intelligent room control iQ Roomcontrol by Betterspace prevailed against five other competitors in the category “Energy efficiency – Concept”.

On March 14 2019, the BEST of Market Award was presented for the ninth time at a festive gala in Hamburg. For the first time, Betterspace was among the winners. “We are happy to receive this award. We are particularly proud because it is the readers who appreciate our intelligent room control,” says Matthias Balzer. “This is motivation for the entire Betterspace team.”
The readers of the trade magazines first class, GVmanager, 24 Stunden Gastlichkeit and street food business of the publishing house and organiser of the award ceremony B&L MedienGesellschaft voted in favour. Altogether 17 products in ten categories were awarded.
More Energy Efficiency And Sustainability In Hotels
The intelligent room control iQ Roomcontrol regulates radiators and air conditioning systems in hotels automatically and independently of staff, thus ensuring greater energy efficiency in the hotel. Thanks to the connection to the PMS, the smart room control considers the occupancy of hotel rooms. In addition, the room control takes regional weather data into account and detects open windows. This way, the hotel reduces energy costs and relieves hotel staff.
The energy efficient use of iQ Roomcontrol in the hotel has been succesfully proven. The AZIMUT Hotel Dresden relies on the awarded Smart Hotel System by Betterspace when it comes to digitization. With the intelligent room control, the hotel realizes up to 28% energy savings. Costs and CO2 emissions are also demonstrably reduced.
About the BEST of Market Award
Since 2012, the trade magazines of the B&L Medien Gesellschaft have been awarding the renowned BEST of Market prize annually on behalf of their readers. The award BEST of Market is based on the results of an online survey on products and concepts, with which industry partners of the out-of-home market applied. In the first part, the anonymous participants were assigned to the individual segments of the out-of-home market Gastronomy/Streetfood, Hotel Management/Hotel Gastronomy and Community Gastronomy as responsible parties and to the respective trade magazines as recipients.
