Press release Better.Connect Kick-Off At Hotel Goldenes Schiff In Bad Ischl

Together For An Environmental Friendly Hotel Industry In Austria

[Bad Ischl/Ilmenau, February 2019]

On January 31, 2019, for the first time in the new year the success concept Better.Connect – The Networking Day for Hoteliers took place. The innovative hotelier Edwin Gruber invited his Austrian colleagues to his Hotel Goldenes Schiff in Bad Ischl.

The hotel industry is changing and digitization is impossible to stop. To survive on the market, hoteliers need to digitally prepare themselves for the future. But in times of shortage of skilled workers and increasinig competition, there is usually no time to deal with the countless offers of digitization. In addition, there is the constant demand for more environmental protection. What could be more obvious than seeking support from the leading digitization specialist for the hotel industry and discuss the perspectives and opportunities that digitization has to offer for the hotel industry, together during a networking event?

Next to well-tried smart solutions, such as the digital guest directory iQ Tab or the heating cost-saving solution iQ Roomcontrol, Robert Böhl and Christian Heineck from Betterspace showcased the new intelligent EV charging station iQ Charger as well. The lively discussions and many questions confirmed the great interest und how important it is to give hoteliers a platform for exchange and networking.

Like at every Better.Connect event, the curious participants were presented with the “hotel room of the future”, what sparked great enthusiasm. “We are convinced, that this way hoteliers see the opportunities offered by digitization and that is not rocket science. The smart solutions help hoteliers manage challenges, such as the shortage of skilled workers or the demand for more sustainablity,” explains Christian Heineck from Betterspace.

Early on, Edwin Gruber recognized the importance and most of all the added value digitization has to offer and equipped his hotel with digital solutions iQ Tab and iQ Roomcontrol from Betterspace in 2017. “As a modern city hotel, we want to use digitization to protect the environment, offer more service to our guests and relieve our employees. With Betterspace we’ve found an innovative partner, with whom we would like to realize further projects in the future, that conserve resources and save costs while still increasing comfort. The participation of more than 20 colleagues from the hotel industry from all over Austria shows that these topics will be of great importance in the future,” explains Edwin Gruber, Owner of Hotel Goldenes Schiff.

„The kick-off was a complete success and we look forward to show hoteliers the latest trends in 2019 and support them on their way to a sustainable and smart hotel,” said the expert and local contact Robert Böhl, summing up the successful networking day for hoteliers, Better.Connect.
